Yankees show interest in Fauja Singh

The Yankees are always interested in old expensive athletes but this latest report may be a little too ridiculous.

Rumors from Spring training indicate the Yankees may be ready to make a substantial offer to recently retired marathon runner Fauja "the Turbaned Tornado" Singh.

The 101 year old just completed his final competitive race and some of the Yankees top brass feel he could make a great pinch runner.

"He's obviously got speed." Said one exec. "Picture this. 9th inning, 2 out, we're down by a run. Old leadfoot Texeira gets a hit. What are we gonna do, what are we gonna do...In comes Singh to stretch that single into an inside the park homerun. Its friggin brilliant. Hell I could even see him stepping in for Gardner on occasion."

Rumors indicate a potential 10 year deal worth about 100 million, but the specifics are still sketchy.

As always we will keep you posted.
